What do I need to make my first gift?
You will need the information from the credit/debit card or bank account you are using. We also ask for your name, address, and email with each transaction just to help us with records on our end. This also will help our treasurer add your gifts to your year-end report if you need that for tax purposes.
At this time we have it set up for all online gifts to go to the General Fund. In the future we may set up other funds you can contribute to directly.

Do I have to set up an account to be able to use this service?
That is up to you. You can choose to set up a username & password if you plan to use the service often in the future, or you can make a one-time donation without a tithe.ly account.

Can I set up recurring giving?
Yes! If you would like to have your gift automated you can choose weekly, biweekly, or monthly recurring giving. You can even choose which day of the week to have the withdrawal made from your account. Of course you can also just do one-time payments instead of or in addition to your scheduled gifts.

What methods of payment are accepted?
You can use a checking account, debit card, or credit card.

How long does a transaction take? Is there a receipt?
Filling in your information and transmitting your transaction is quick and will only take a couple of minutes. The withdrawal should take place within approximately two business days. You will receive an email receipt for each transaction.

What fees are involved?
Tithe.ly does have a processing fee for each transaction - just as any company has to deal with when accepting credit/debit transactions. The cost per credit card transaction is $0.30 + 2.9% of the transaction (3.5% for AmEx). The cost for ACH/Bank payments is $0.30 + 1% of the transaction.
There are two options for handling the fees. The default setting is for you to have the fee taken out of your transaction. In this case tithe.ly will take the transaction fee from your gift and transfer the balance to the church. You can also choose to pay the fee yourself, in which case it will be added to your transaction and the church will receive your full gift. Please feel free to use whichever option is best for you - there is no expectation for you to pay the fee yourself, but if you choose to do so we thank you!
